DIY Vanilla or Maple Creme Non-Dairy Creamer

You know how it is…. You are out of coffee creamer and they only have “regular” flavor. Booo-ring!

It’s ok. You can fix it!

Here’s what I do… Just buy the non-dairy coffee creamer of your choice, you know, one of those little cartons? And then take it home and give your homely creamer a make over!SONY DSC

To make Vanilla flavored creamer, the average one pint carton needs 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and 6 packets of Stevia in the Raw (I have no trouble with sugar, and oyu can use it if oyu prefer it. I just use products like Stevia for little lavishments like this and save the sugar for the real treats, like chocolate chip cookies! But feel free to substitute your own favorite sweetener, and yes, of course you can use a liquid one). And I know, it sounds like a lot, but you need to remember that you will be sweetening more than 6 cups of coffee with that pint!

That’s all you need to make Vanilla creamer, but to make Maple Creme creamer, just make the vanilla and then add 1/8 tsp of maple extract to it. You may also wish to sweeten it with maple syrup instead of another sweetener too!

I don’t know about you, but we went camping up North this past weekend and had our first night where we could open the windows and sleep in natural, COOL air! I am about done with Summer, thank you! Bring on the Fall… Maple coffee creamer and all!
